The 21 sept. 2024
In front of the Lamorlaye Anglican Chapel 60260 LAMORLAYE
from 14h30 to 16h30
To mark the Fête du Cheval, ALMA is organising a guided tour entitled "In the footsteps of the first stables, trainers and jockeys in Lamorlaye". The tour begins at Place du Calvaire with the Anglican chapel ; then the English part of the cemetery with the first trainers, the rue du Général Leclerc which evokes the old stables, cafés and Count Komar, the avenue de la Libération (north) with the large mansions built by the second generation of trainers (from the 1930s to the 1950s), the voie de la Grange des Prés for a look at the Lamorlaye training ground and the only old stables that have fortunately been preserved (with a possible visit to one of them), then the avenue de la Libération (south) with more stables that have now disappeared to arrive at the château gate, in time to enjoy the shows planned by the town of Lamorlaye for the Fête du Cheval. The visits scheduled as part of the Fête du Cheval programme (training grounds and stables) will be a useful complement to this guided tour of ALMA.
The meeting point is at 2.30pm in front of the Anglican chapel, Place du Calvaire.
