Do you remember the reading method you used to learn to read? You might find it among the hundred or so
learning methods on display from the collection assembled by Mr and Mrs Guerrini, retired Cantilians from the French education system. This journey through time will enable you to appreciate the evolution of the methods used by teachers in France from 1900 to 1980, both in terms of the style of the illustrations and the way reading is taught (syllabic, global, mixed). They also reflect changes in society.

This exhibition will be enhanced by photographs of the girls' school, which was set up in 1912 in the building now occupied by the media library.

On display from 7 to 28 September, free admission during library opening hours. Collection on loan from Mr and Mrs Gerrini.
