A nail factory in the Oise area
Let yourself be tempted by this atypical guided tour (you will meet the workers who still work on century-old machines that they are the only ones in the world to know!) of a 19th century in Creil.
The Rivierre nail factoryis named after the family who founded it in Creil in 1888, next to the Creil train station (on the Nogent-sur-Oise side), in a street that was once very industrial (located in "6 rue des usines" (factory street): it's a given!).
We are first amazed by the old industrial atmosphereth that you discover when you arrive: nothing seems to have changed since then. Starting with the family home at the entrance to the factory, you are immediately plunged into that century and can imagine the workers arriving under the watchful eye of Marie Rivierre, who, aged just 27, inherited the factory from her husband, who died prematurely, and built it up over the next 35 years.
Our guide Justine who will welcome your group at the entrance to the main building. Justine will be your guide on this discovery tour and from the first moment you meet her, you'll feel her passion for this industrial heritage and the respect it has for those who worked there and those who still work there today in this factory, which is unique in Europe.
She will share her passion with you, telling you the story of this family business and introducing you to some of the nails made here (only a few, there are many). 2,800 references of forged nails, points and seeds in the catalogue We'd never have imagined it! Justine will then take you from one end of the production line to the other to discover the main characteristics of this ancestral know-how, which was awarded the Living Heritage Company label, from the wire drawing to the machine room to the packaging area. It smells of oil and grease. A "Zola-esque" decorin its natural state with its magnificent glass roof and shed roofIt's a regular destination for film-makers and musicians looking for authentic locations for their work.
During the guided tour with your group, you'll be transported into a little-known world from another era...
