The Musée de la Mémoire des Murs et des Hommes (Museum of the Memory of Walls and People) is a journey of emotion and history, with a collection of striking graffiti! Here, castles, keeps, towers and churches bear witness to 10,000 years of history, from the Neolithic period to the mid-20th century: rock art, medieval art, inscriptions and engravings by soldiers from the First World War in the former underground quarries of the Oise. The museum also features a collection of graffiti by sailors and boatmen from the 16th to 18th centuries. 2 video presentations and 3,500 casts on display in 22 rooms illustrate a little-known heritage that has been preserved from prehistory to the Second World War. The scenography, with its low-angled light effect, is a dreamlike journey in itself! Graffiti hunt for children throughout the year.
Discover the hike around the forgotten sites. Accompanied by a guide, you will discover the remains of the Second World War from the German army and the TODT organisation on a 2.5km trail, combining nature and history. Reservations required.
