This church originally belonged to the monastery of Saint-Leu d'Esserent. The monastery was founded in 1081 by the Order of Cluny. The church became a parish church during the French Revolution. Its dimensions (21m wide by 70m long, 21m high under the vault) are those of a cathedral.
