Built mainly in the medieval period, between the 13e and 15e Saint-Médard church is one of Creil's heritage treasures. Since its origins, it has been used for Catholic worship, and has belonged to the town of Creil since the law of 9 December 1905 concerning the separation of the Churches and the State.

General presentation
Saint-Médard church is the result of an astonishing juxtaposition of different architectural styles and periods. It was built on the ruins of a Romanesque church, adjacent to the town's medieval walls.

History of the site
The oldest parts preserved today date from around 1200. Expanded several times during the Middle Ages, the church of Saint-Médard suffered during the Hundred Years' War, and then in the 20th century it was rebuilt.e The church was rebuilt in the 16th century following the First and Second World Wars, which explains the presence of stained glass windows from the Reconstruction period. The 49-metre-high bell tower was built in the 16e century.
