A place steeped in history

Its history dates back to 11^e century and since, many families have succeeded, such as the Counts of Clermont, the Madaillans and the Baron de Condé for the most illustrious. Today, it is the Bernet family who run the place, and oday, it's the Bernet family who run the place, and thanks to them, we can visit the castle.

Beyond this rich history, the discovery of these rooms, their decoration and their objects, books and furniture, François-Xavier and his daughter Marie-Astrid tell us about "castle's life".They tell us about history with a capital H, but also about little historical anecdotes that surprise us or make us smile. A beautiful duo who has its heart set on bringing the castle to life, which became theirs in 2012 and is restored with passion.

A family story

The Château has belonged to many families over the centuries. Today, it is the Bernets, father and daughter, who are renovating it with passion.

The Bernets: a family renovation

In 2012, François-Xavier and Marie-Astrid, father and daughter, made their dream come true: These two history buffs decided to acquireMontataire’s castle as a family and renovate it.The project involved a colossal amount of work (renovation of the castle's framework and stables, and the wooden floors of the upper floors), as well as hours of research into historical archives, anecdotes and period objects such as dishes and furniture. The result: François-Xavier and Marie-Astrid welcome you and tell you all about the history of this place during fascinating guided tours, conducted with happiness and lots of humor!

And it goes on!

Marie-Astrid's partner recently joined the adventure, offering on-site catering for groups and receptions.

Insatiable, the The Bernet family is currently developing quality family rooms, which will soon be open to the public.

Throughout the year, you can discover the Château de Montataire on a guided tour. guided tour led by Françoise-Xavier and her daughter Marie-Astrid, owners of the Château.

As a family, they will take you on a journey through the centuries to discover the history of the buildingand the illustrious people who have visited it! (We'll let you find out who!)

Some visits are accompanied by a snack or meal. on the theme of the season (galette des rois, Easter, summer, Christmas...). Food lovers beware!

Family events or seminars

For your family events, weddings, birthdays, communions or seminars, vou can rent one or several rooms in the castle of Montataire for your receptions in a historical atmosphere (imposing fireplace, wood panelling, ceiling decorations...).

The little extra: the Bernet family offers you a an already to use service: rental of the room, tables and cutlery, and on-site catering!
