The Arbre à poule farm is the perfect example of a permaculture managed ecolieu,that is to say, in harmony and in the respect of animals and plants.

Located in the heart of the very urban city of Villers-Saint-Paul,l' l’Arbre à Poule resists to the concrete invaders and offers you an alternative to the current consumer society.

Eco-friendly place in permaculture,This haven of peace is the ideal place to reconnect with our roots, accompanied by the The Mancheron family has owned the farm since 400 years.

A healthy mix of nature and the living (“arbre” meaning “tree” and “poule” meaning “hen”, “l’arbre à poule” could be translate as “the hen/chicken tree”),this farm covers 13 hectares where numerous varieties of fruit trees and shrubs, vegetables, aromatic plants grow, and where poultry, pigs (who love apples!), donkeys and other farm animals gambol.

From harvest to sale

Patrick and Magali, the owners of the farm, look after the plantations and the animals. They maintain, harvest, transform and then sell their production in their own outlet,located at the entrance of the farm (a parking is available).

Opening hours

The shop is open on Tuesday and Friday eveningsfrom 5 to 7 pm and on Wednesday and Saturday morningsfrom 10am to 12pm.

Workshops for families and adults

Patrick and Magalie's aim, beyond the human encounter, is to transmit their philosophy of life based on respect for our environment. To do this, they organise visits (meeting the farm animals), training courses from a few hours to several days (creating a productive permaculture garden) workshops (working with sheep's wool or beekeeping). These activities are aimed at both adults and childrenin order to be aware of today's society and act daily to minimize our environmental impact.

We strongly advise you to book. L’Arbre à Poule’s activities are very successful!

L'Antre Deux Terres holiday cottage

In addition to their farming activity, Patrick and Magalie also offer accommodation certified “Gîte de France”: L'Antre Deux Terres (with a capacity of 3 people). This is an opportunity to spend a night at the farm and taste the good local products harvested at the foot of the holiday cottage !

The farm of L'Arbre à poule is certified Bienvenue à la Fermewhich purpose is to promote regional and gastronomic discovery and is supported by the association Ferme d’avenir which aims to develop agroecology, meaning agricultural production based on ecosystems’ respect.
